Week 15: April 17 - 19

April 17, 2017

I spent about 45 minutes today searching for unlinked posts (like posts that mention a company but do not link back to their website) about one of our clients. I found six articles for that project.

I then spent the rest of my time working on research for a different company. I found 24 events for one city and 12 for a different one.
__________________________________________________________

April 19, 2017

I found keywords for 11 companies. I also found contact information for 22 companies.

Today was my last day with Nakturnal. I have learned a lot about SEO and different strategies to better optimize websites in order to generate sales. It has been a great experience!

Week 14: April 10 - 14

April 10, 2017

Today I found contact information for 35 companies. I got keywords for 10 companies.
__________________________________________________________

April 12, 2017

I found keywords for 2 companies today. I also finished up the competitive analysis for Lexmark. I updated bloggers in prosperworks (like marking them as confirmed for past keyword campaigns)
__________________________________________________________

April 14, 2017

I did a quick clean up of a potential client's keywords (including a short competitive analysis.) I then found contact information for 12 companies and keywords for 12 companies, including one that I added. I did spend some time on about 14 companies that I could not find on LinkedIn.

Wednesday, April 5, 2017

Week 13: April 3 - April 5

April 3, 2017

Today I found contact information for 28 companies. I got keywords for 2 companies. I also completed a competitive analysis for a client.
__________________________________________________________

April 5, 2017

Today I went through records to make sure that bloggers from one of our client's campaigns had been compensated for their work (either through a Pay Pal transaction or through a trade of the client's products). I then made sure that bloggers in prosperworks were properly labeled for certain campaigns.

Week 12: March 27 - March 31

March 27, 2017

Today I worked on finding keywords and contact information for potential clients. I found keywords for 37 companies and contact information for 5 companies. I then worked on promoting one of our clients giveaways.
__________________________________________________________

March 31, 2017

I started the day by finding contact information for around ten or so companies. I then did some keyword analysis for a potential client to see how we can get their products to rank for certain keywords. I then complete a completed analysis for a different client.

I finished the day with more keyword analysis in order to put together a proposal for an interested client.

Week 11: March 20 - 24

March 20, 2017

I was able to get contacts and keywords for 12 companies that are already in our system. I also was able to get contacts and emails for 3 new leads that I found while looking for the other ones. So I found 15 in total today.
__________________________________________________________

March 22, 2017

Today I wrote a comment for a blog post sent to me by Kayla. I also found new contact info (but not keywords) for 10 clients. I spent some time looking for contact info for three other clients but was unable to find anything

I then worked on a proposal from start to finish for an interested client (this includes doing SEM Rush/pulling keywords that they show up for, competitive analysis, and then the final PowerPoint proposal).

__________________________________________________________

March 23, 2017

On Monday I only worked three hours instead of five, so I worked the other two hours today to make up time.

I found keywords for 17 contacts. Of those 17, I found contact info for 7 of them (the other 10 I found contact info for on Wednesday).
__________________________________________________________

March 24, 2017

Today I found information for 19 clients (both keywords and contact information). I found only keywords for 32 companies. I did spend some time looking at leads at the top of the "Needs New Contact Info" sheet, and found that at least the first eight or so do not have good keywords

Week 10: March 13 - 17

March 13, 2017

I worked on finding new contact information for potential clients today. In our system, we have had some wrong email addresses in our automated sales system so the emails needed updated. I used Linked In to find the marketing managers or head of SEO at different companies.

I am attaching a picture with an example search in Email Hunter.

March 15, 2017

I spent the first part of my day updating clients information in prosperworks. In order to keep track of our sales progress, we have these "funnels" that tell us where potential clients fall in our process, so I made sure that their last contact with us was updated in the system.

I then went on to finding new contact info like I had been on Monday.
__________________________________________________________

March 17, 2017

After Monday and Wednesday, my supervisor Jodie created goals on finding new contact info for potential clients. My goal for today was to have 31 clients ready for the sales email process and I was able to prepare 33 of them (with contact info and example keywords).

I then returned to organizing clients in the sales process on prosperworks.

Monday, March 6, 2017

Week 9: March 6 - 10

March 6, 2017

I completed a competitive analysis for two potential clients. This included analyzing the page and domain authorities of the top ten results on a google search (I'm including an image of an example search in order to show you the information I am looking at, although it is not a keyword that I analyzed).

I also began a third competitive analysis and organized the Google Sheet I will use later to complete it.

__________________________________________________________________

March 8, 2017

I completed the competitive analysis that I started on Monday and looked at one of our new client's websites in order to help figure out the best keyword strategy for their campaign.
__________________________________________________________________

March 10, 2017

I completed a competitive analysis for three different potential clients, some including the on-page relevancy (how the client's URL relates to the keyword it ranks for). I also analyzed the competitor's pages that ranked for certain keywords and recorded how they compare with our potential clients.

One employee asked me to help her learn the software that we choose our keywords for our campaigns from (SEM Rush).

Week 8: February 27 - 28

February 27, 2017

I finished updating the information for confirmed bloggers into Prosperworks today for the execution side of our sales process.

I then moved onto putting together proposals for potential clients. This included finding fifty keywords for three different potential clients.
__________________________________________________________________

February 28, 2017

I started by finding 17 fitness blogs. 13 of them are usable for our client. One of the blogs I looked at is shown below.

I then went on to find new emails for potential clients. With our new automated system, we have had emails bounce back as the wrong email address so I was asked to find usable ones through LinkedIn.

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

Week 7: February 20 - 24

February 20, 2017

Today I finished the comp analysis for Super Jeweler. I then worked on my add to Gmass sheet and found two keywords for the clients in the sheet. I was able to add 62 emails to the SEO Ready For Gmass tab and 11 to the new contact tab. There are 10 that I found today that will I think will need to be taken back into SEM rush because the keywords are not good.
__________________________________________________________________

February 22, 2017

I started by beginning some organization of the master blogger list. As we begin to move information into Prosperworks, it is crucial for us to keep our information organized.

I then moved into creating notes in prosperworks about mom bloggers that have confirmed to work with us or said no to working with our network.

__________________________________________________________________

February 24, 2017

Today I continued to organize bloggers within Prosperworks today. I was able to go through all the bloggers used for a client from September to December.

Monday, February 13, 2017

Week 6: February 13 - 17

February 13, 2017

Today I found 5+ Men's Fashion blogs. I then continued to organize our Prosperworks "All Sales" Funnel. This included deleting duplicate "Open opportunities" as well as relating sent emails to these opportunity funnels.

Above is a screenshot of Prosperworks. I have covered up the client names so that any competitors will not know who we are reaching out to. (Also, do not mind the watermark from the editing software I used).

__________________________________________________________________

February 15, 2017

Today I finally completed reorganizing the All Sales funnel in Prosperworks. Once it was done, I began working on another competitive analysis for a potential client.
__________________________________________________________________

February 17, 2017

I completed a competitive analysis for a jewelry client. I also helped to input information for our automated email system.

Week 5: February 6 - 10

February 6, 2017

Kayla had me work on blog research today. I actually found a new resource that allowed for me to look at other people's master list of blogs and assist me in my own research.

This is a screenshot of the actual site that has blog lists.

Here is an example of one of the blog lists.

I worked on a variety of blog topics today including lifestyle, gift giving, and fitness.

__________________________________________________________________

February 8, 2017

I only worked on fitness blogs today. I went through Group High's New Years Resolutions list and compiled all of the useable fitness blogs. I found 22, but three had a PA that was either below 30 or above 50. Then we did a competition analysis training to make sure that all of the interns were on the same page.

__________________________________________________________________

February 10, 2017

I worked on organizing contacts within Prosperworks today. It is a site we use to keep track of clients and how far along in our sales process they are.

However, I spent the majority of the day completing a competitive analysis for 63 keywords for Fresh Pair.

Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Week 4: January 30 - February 1

January 30, 2017

Today I found 30 blogs (one of which is fitness but the other 29 were related to Lifestyle, Crafting, and DIY). The majority of these blogs will help with our client, Paperless Post.
__________________________________________________________________

February 1, 2017

I started by creating Keyword One Sheets for interested clients. This is just a sheet that lays out how we can help them to increase sales and an average of how much their sales will increase.

We went over the new sales process today. We looked at Google Slides that discusses the longer version of what they are attempting to do.

We also were looking at an updated version of a training document I read a few weeks ago.

They were discussing how we are trying to make the sales process simpler for the workers and defining exactly what they do in order to help clients.

They also had me start on creating my own new lead. I chose Rock 'N' Joe, and added the contact information into Prosperworks.

Week 3: January 23 - 27

January 23, 2017

The deadline for the Paperless Post client is coming up soon, so I am still conducting research on blogs. It seems to be becoming a little harder to find resources of blog names that I don't already have for wedding and lifestyle blogs. A lot of the popular ones have already been written down in the master post, so now I'm starting to search for the lesser known blogs.

I found 42 blogs today, but 9 of them have a page authority lower than 30 or no email address, meaning that they are not of use to us or our client.

__________________________________________________________________

January 25, 2017

I worked today with Jodie on the sales process. She started by having me work on their one-sheets for clients, which is a new part of their sales process. These one sheets explain to clients how much profit they can get by optimizing their results for a specific key term. It is a personalized document, so we work with their average totals spent on their website along with the search volume of that key term to generate an estimation of how much more they can get with a higher ranking in that key term.

Jodie then had me work on a spreadsheet in which I started to collect information from previous leads. I was putting emails, top keyword options, company names, and estimations for generated revenue into this sheet. This is to help with a new automated follow-up system that they are trying to put into place.

After that, she had me complete follow-up emails for some clients that had yet to open their emails and needed a second or third follow up response.

__________________________________________________________________

January 27, 2017

I started today by searching for new contact information for potential leads. I found 31 new emails and names for these open leads.

Jodie also had me follow-up with the one sheet assignment that I started on Wednesday. I sent the created one sheets to the clients that I made them for.

I then worked on finding other SEO companies for a master list. These contacts will be used for new sales leads. Jodie also had me look at general leads whose contact was the "Head of Search" at their company.

Towards the end of the day, Jodie had me work on a competitive analysis for a potential client, where we recorded the Page and Domain Authorities of the top five rankings under certain keyword searches. We also did this for related search questions in regard to the "featured" search result under certain question searches.

Week 2: January 16 - 20

January 16, 2017

I completed more blog research.

I found 20 lifestyle/wedding blogs. Only 1 does not have an email, meaning that there is only one that cannot be contacted currently. This is all for the client Paperless Post.

Kellee Maize also asked me to help with the another client comp analysis, by doing blog research for that specific client. The client is Decker, an adult swim TV show. I was asked to look for blogs that discuss this show using these keywords:
  • Eric and tim awesome show
  • Decker (the show)
  • Decker unclassified (the show)
  • Tim heidecker
  • gregg turkington
  • Absolutely productions
  • Neil hamburger
  • On cinema
  • Absolutely productions
  • New shows on adult swim
  • Eric wareheim
  • Spy comedy tv show
  • Comedies (so like any comedy blogs - not by a comedian but that talk about comedy)

I found around 31 posts regarding the keywords up to Gregg Turkington on the list.

__________________________________________________________________

January 18, 2017

I found a total of:

40 Wedding blogs

For our purposes, only 38 will be usable. One of the forty is missing an email address so they will need to be looked into further. The other of the forty that we can't currently use has a page authority below 30 meaning that they are not useful for the job yet.

I also found out that an extension that is frequently used in blog research will not be able to be downloaded to my computer so I will have to look into similar "No Follow" extensions.

__________________________________________________________________

January 20, 2017

I started today by researching a working "No Follow" extension for my Macbook. This extension allows us to see whether blogs enter keywords or links as "No Follow" meaning that the posts will not help with what we are trying to do (which is boost our client's name/link in search results.)

I found a total of:

34 Lifestyle blogs

12 Event Planning blogs

4 Wedding blogs

For our purposes, only 35 will be usable. 15 of the blogs either have no emails or their page authority is below thirty, so they will not be able to help boost our client's ranking in the search results. I did reach out to two pages via Facebook to try and retrieve their emails, and I heard back from one of them.

This blogger research has been the most pressing issue because our sales team has had trouble with some of the bloggers contacted. Our deadline for having bloggers for this client is the end of the month, which is rapidly approaching, so searching for usable bloggers is crucial.

Week 1: January 9 - 13

January 9, 2017

Today we started with training on SEO (Search Engine Optimization). One of the workers Liz discussed training for SEO Rush and how they begin the process for the cold emails to potential clients for their SEO work.

We went through a sample of competitive analysis using Google Sheets and Moz, in order to determine page authority and domain authority for Bebe au Lait, a maternity boutique.

__________________________________________________________________

January 11, 2017

Today Jodie went over the process for sending follow up emails in the sales funnel for clients. She discussed the differences between sending a follow up to someone who opened the initial email vs. sending a follow up to someone who had not opened the initial email (which you can see in Gmail through a Google Chrome extension called Wizy).

She also explained how to organize where you are in the process with each potential client on Prosperworks and how to operate it through Gmail.

I spent about 2-3 hours completing and sending follow up emails to clients as well as filling in some information on the Google sheet that I started on Monday.

__________________________________________________________________

January 13, 2017

Today Kayla trained me to search for lifestyle and crafting blogs. I spent my time from 9 am to 1 pm working on searching for blogs and entering them into the master data base of bloggers. This is used for the promotion of client's links in order to boost where they end up in Google Search results.

I found a total of:
Crafting/Lifestyle Blogs: 30
Blogs that can be contacted (meaning they have an email and a Page Authority that is over thirty: 23

Liz showed me how to create an SEO Tutorial for a client. I completed one for Nested Bean. This is to show clients what Nakturnal can do to optimize their search results. It includes competitive analysis.

I also updated my competitive analysis links from Monday.
